Study: Orlando No. 1 Most Dangerous City For Pedestrians

This hits close to home since I've been an advocate of pedestrian oriented urban designs for more the 17 years. I had hoped we had made some progress but apparently not. Perhaps it is that we just ha…

Bio:
I am a son of a son of an architect and I’m married to an architect. Needless to say I’ve been in and around design all my life. As a designer I’ve lived, studied and traveled throughout Europe. Having grown up in Winter Park, one of Duany's TTD models, I have an intrinsic understanding of traditional town design. I studied in Tuscany, lived in Paris, owned a home in South-Central France and traveled to see most all the greatest art, architecture and landscape of the Western World. Designing the built environment is one of my life’s passions.

Professional Experience:
Assisted with the design of large community developments, industrial parks, community parks, plazas, public streetscapes, campuses, theme parks and DOT highway enhancement projects. Assisted or managed the creation of site, landscape, and irrigation projects for countless small-scale code compliant commercial projects. Coordinated the design process and development with clients, engineers, planners, jurisdictions, etc.

Assisted with drafting Land Development Reviews, Architectural Manuals, and Comprehensive Plans. Acted as Senior Landscape Designer, overseeing work for as many as five drafters. Engaged in extensive marketing efforts as far afield as South America. Proficient in AutoCAD 2009 and the cutting edge companion landscape and irrigation application, Land F/X.

Lived abroad and currently holds work permit in EU-member country (France).

I am pretty new to the Orlando area but, I have noticed it impossible to be able to ride your bike anywhere so possibly you have a big point up there!

Saludos
